Welcome to CLWTTC season 2018/2019
Welcome to Carlton le Willows Table Tennis Centre, home to one of the UK's best school based Table Tennis programs and state of the art purpose built facility. Our exciting programme offers a pathway from beginner to elite with players playing recreationally as well as some players being ranked top 10 in the country for their age group. We also have links internationally and players have visited both China and Sweden, two of the world's Table Tennis super powers.
For those joining us for a second season we hope you have had a good summer, and raring to get going with another year. We would like to take this opportunity to bring you up to speed with some exciting developments we have planned across the table tennis program for this academic year.
We are delighted to announce that Evie Collier will be working more formally with us across the program. Evie is heavily involved with the National setup coaching some of the best English youth players, as well as coaching for Team England at the recent Commonwealth Games in Australia. Evie also plays semi-professionally in the Swiss League.
New Equipment Provider
We have a new equipment supplier, Stiga, which is distributed through a company called Thornton’s Table Tennis.
As a valued member we are able to offer great discount so should you want any Stiga branded equipment, you can view their website here.
We also have their latest brochure in the social area. We also have CLW training kit which is available at £12.50 for a shirt and with shorts £22.50.
New Data Management System
To improve the way we communicate with you, we have been working over the past few months on a new data management system, which we hope to roll out from October. This will also involve moving to a direct debit system for collecting payments for Ping Pass, Discovery & Aspire sessions.
2018-19 Timetable and costings
We have produced a new timetable (although quite similar to last year) but we have expanded our successful Aspire program to include an Aspire B group to accommodate those who wish to progress their game to a higher level. This new timetable along with new costings can be seen here.
How the Payments work
The payments are calculated on a term time basis and then split into 12 equal monthly payments making a cheaper monthly payment thus an expectation that payment will still be made in August.
Being part of the Discovery and Aspire programs bring discounts on training camps we run through the holidays.
This is after school club for players who wish to play table tennis socially with their friends, with a coach present to facilitate the session, and provide support and advice to players who wish to develop their skills. These sessions are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3-4pm.
These sessions are the next progression step for players who wish to further develop their skills, in a coach led session, have access to any 2 of 4 sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 4-5pm.
The Aspire group is split into 2 groups depending on level of play, and is for players who wish to play at a higher level of competition, with sparrers and additional coaches in the sessions, have access to all 5 sessions.
We hold various competitions at the centre, which include Nottingham Junior League, National Cadet/Junior League, 1* and 2* Junior Competitions, and weekly league matches on Wednesday and 2-person league on Thursdays.
If you wish your child to enter any competitions, please speak to Chris.
